Philosophy of Engineered Intelligent Systems

Before we step into theoretical considerations of certain structures of engineered intelligent systems (EIS) it should be clarified which kind of problems we want to solve.

This lecture is devoted to the task to built intelligent systems which support humans in their daily life in a human like manner. This includes the ability to communicate with humans with a normal language and by demonstrating the usual way of understanding such languages. This is motivated by the conviction that it is more important in the future to assist humans to solve the knowledge-overflow problem than to be of some practical use. Nevertheless the development of truly intelligent systems will also produce lots of practical abilities as a 'byproduct' during the process of becoming intelligent.
