Tasks

A necessary component of every HMI-application is a finite set of well defined tasks which have to be solved by some users using a certain machine (or distributed computing technical environment). A task is defined by at least one goal state, which has to be addressed, and finitely many preceeding states which are pre-conditions of the goal state. An ordinary task is a task for which known sequences of possible actions are known, which transform certain known beginning states into one or more goal states. This include the case, that more than one user can be involved in such a task process and that several users are acting in parallel or are interchanging knowledge and data.
